Setting Up Dynamic Keyword Landing Pages

Setting Up Dynamic Keyword Landing Pages (A)

In this section we're going to start getting into a very advanced feature and that's making your landing and optin pages dynamic based on the keywords you're bidding on when using PPC advertising. I'll be using a site I created for the dog training market for this example.

Below you can the optin page. Here I'm using the extended optin form feature to capture the visitor's dog name. Below is in edit mode: Notice this tag I created {::$db::} which stands for "dog breed".

When using LPG you can name your own tags whatever you want. I'll first explain how the tag works. When you look at our regular LPG URL's they look like this...

http://www.YourDomain.com/index.php

But, this is only the start we can add things to our URL string to make our pages display different items. Keeping with my dog training site and the {::$db::} tag I created. Notice how my tags in the page always have the "$" in them. This is because we need this when using tags on the page. We DO NOT need them when putting tags in our URL string.

So If I want to turn this generic dog training site into a "poodle" training site I can by just adding this tag to my URL string.

http://www.YourDomain.com/index.php?&db=Poodle

Here's my "real URL":

http://www.officialdogtips.com/dog-training/index.php?&db=Poodle

On the next page you'll see what the full page looks like.

When setting your sites up like this you want to make sure the sales copy reads well for all your keywords.

I'm also putting the keyword tag {::$db::} in the title tag for my pages so the engines will pick this up. Now what's great about LPG is that these page with these keywords are hard coded "real words" so when the "BOT" (Search Engine Robot) crawls the page it actually see's the word "Poodle".

The reason it can read the actual keyword is because all LPG pages are created on the fly from the server. Once it's called on (via clicking on your special link) it puts those keywords into your page and displays it on the page.

Now let's take a look at the page if we change the keyword to "German Shepherd". Here's the URL:

http://www.officialdogtips.com/dog-training/index.php?&db=German+Shepherd

This is how you optimize your landing pages and optin pages. Now this is where most marketers stop, but not me... not with LPG.

On the last couple of pages I showed you how to setup dynamic pages based on the keywords you're bidding on. Now, I want to show you how to take this personalization into the sales page.

Notice I'm asking for the visitors "Poodle's" name. Here's I'm using the "extended optin feature" I talked about a couple chapters ago. Once the visitor fills in their pet's name the next form appears (see below).

Now at this point I know the visitor has a "Poodle" named "Cocoa" and he has a "Jumping Problem". Are you starting to see the real power with LPG?

While all this is happing I'm collecting this data into my auto responder system so at any time I can email "Chris" to help him with his "Poodle" --- "Cocoa's" "Jumping Problem".

Now, once the visitor clicks the big green button we take all that data and send them to the sales page. The difference (because you're using LPG) is that the sales page is totally customized for this visitor.

This page is kind of long but what I'm doing is helping "Chris" with "Cocoa" "Jumping Problem". I have my affiliate links throughout the page, but I'm also doing something with those... let me show you.

Here's the bottom of the page and I have a button and a link (both are going to the same affiliate link). But since this page is about "Poodles" then I want to make sure I send the visitor to a "Poodle" affiliate program.

Here's what all my links look like...

http://www.kingdomofpets.com/dogobediencetraining/index.php?aff=leadpage&type={::$db::}

See, I'm putting the dog breed in the link itself so when visitor clicks on it they are taken to a "Poodle" page that sells the product.

[NOTE: This can only be done if the affiliate author has already built landing pages for each dog breed, which in this case they and that's why I built this like it is.

On the next page I'll show you what the affiliate site looks like.

This is what the visitor see's when they click on the link.

Can you see how we took the visitor all the way through the process and dialed in to their problem and then offered a solution?

Now, this site of mine that I just walked you through is only two pages. It consists of an optin page and a sales page... that's it! Because I'm using the power of LPG I can turn this into thousands of sites if I want all by simply changing the keyword {::$db::} in the URL string.

My purpose for showing you this site is so you can start to really see the power that LPG has. Also keep in mind while all of this is happing LPG is tracking all your visitors and showing you which keywords they used to get to your site, etc.

In the next chapter we'll get into setting up your pages using Google Analytics and also working with Google AdWords and putting in your conversion codes.
